Vaitheeswaran Temple

The Vaitheeswaran Temple is the birthplace of Palm aleaf strology, which is also known by the name of ” Nadi astrology” or “nadi jyotisa” in Sanskrit. This ancient and deep form of Hindu astrology has its roots in the sacred history of the temple. It is based on the belief that the fates of every person, covering their present, past, and even their future were carefully planned and carefully documented by a pious Hindu Sages in the days of antiquity.

The Nadi texts that were written in the old Tamil script, also known as Vatteluttu, stand as an evidence of their spiritual wisdom as well as insight of the seers of the past. There are many opinions on the authorship of these extraordinary leaflets, the authors are primarily believed to be the work of the revered Tamil sage known as Agathiyar. Legend says that Agathiyar received revelations from God and was granted the unique ability to look into the web of human fates.
